Basic contract creation configuration is done on the Administrator page, under Contract automation > Configuration. Here is where you can configure, among other things, which contract creation features are available to (authorised) users, how documents are generated and who will be your template administrators (for template insertion or template maintenance). Various categories of settings are grouped together on several subtabs.

Note: always click Save after making any changes.

1Contract creation
This subtab covers access to various highly useful (though non-essential) functionalities, as well as a few more technical settings. When getting started with contract automation, ensure that the correct option for File storage is selected. If a required external storage system is missing from the selection menu, please refer to the API integrations section of this knowledge base.

2Document generation
The Document generation settings will rarely if ever need to be changed. You may find it useful at this stage to modify the default document name format, however. The default format, [relation.2.shortName] [documenttitle], will result in a document name such as “Counterparty Ltd. License agreement 001.docx”. Manually delete any tags (i.e. bracketed words or phrases) in the name format field that are redundant and use the magnifier icon to select alternate tags.

3Model contracts
If Access to model contracts (see the Contract creation subtab) is enabled, a separate Model contracts subtab will be visible. If so, please ensure that the field Contract know-how URL contains a working hyperlink to the intended model contracts website. You are more than welcome to link to Weagree’s own model contracts sharing platform if you like (this is in fact the default URL).

4General admins notified
For the purpose of being notified of and processing user feedback, one or more users may be designated here as general template administrators. These users will be notified when user feedback is submitted. For now, you may safely leave this as is.

5Test user groups
Certain users may be granted the ‘template testing’ user right. This gives them access to the original model contracts upon which templates are based and any ‘all options’ documents that may have been generated by administrators for those templates, and allows them to compare those to documents generated using the templates. Such users can enable to disable template testing from their user settings. To expand on this user right, user groups may be added under Test user groups. An authorised user who enables template testing will then also gain access to templates assigned to that user group (until template testing is switched off again). Again, you may safely leave this as is for now.
