The Weagree Wizard’s Template Creation Tool allows you to quickly search and replace any word, phrase or tag in a template.
1. Click Search within a template. A pop-up will appear.
2. Insert the search term in the Search for field.
Note: the template will be searched for the word, phrase, or combination of letters as entered, so be precise. A query such as “limitation liability” will not return results that read “limitation of liability” and searching for “fine” will not return results that read “penalty”.
3. To modify your search, select any of the following options:
a. Ignore case: return any exact match regardless of upper or lower case.
b. Whole word: return only complete matches (e.g. “confidential” will be ignored if the search query is “confi” and “confidentiality” will be ignored if the search query is “confidential”).
c. Include tags: return text found within tags (e.g. “[date.Effective date]” if the search query is “date”).
4. To narrow down or expand the scope of your search, select any of the options beneath the Replace with (case-sensitive) field.
Note: by default, the template outline (i.e. the non-library components of the template) and definitions will be selected. Be careful when including any library components in your search (definitions included), as any changes you make in them will affect all templates in which they are used.
5. Click Search when ready.
After performing a search, the results will be shown in the table beneath the fields and options. The template and library components that have returned hits will be listed, with the actual search results highlighted. Component names will also be searched. You can click on any link in the second column to open that component in another tab for editing.
To replace any search results:
6. Insert the replacement word, phrase, or combination of letters in the Replace with (case-sensitive) field.
Note: the Ignore case setting has no effect on this field (i.e. if you insert “seller” it will not automatically be changed to “Seller”, or vice versa)
7. Select whichever search results that you want to replace.
8. Click the Replace icon.
