In addition to configurable headers and footers, the house style editor incorporates various other drafting settings. These affect both the general appearance of a generated document and some specific elements.

On the Administrator page, navigate to Contract autmation > Contract house styles.

1. To modify a house style, click its pen icon.

2. Click the Other drafting settings subtab. This contains several further subtabs.

3. The Party reference subtab concerns the naming convention applied to parties throughout the document:

a. There are party reference settings for ‘own parties’ (found in the Weagree Wizard’s entity management database) and ‘other parties’ (found in the Weagree Wizard’s CRM database). You may choose between the short name as entered into the database (e.g. ‘Weagree’ as opposed to ‘Weagree B.V.’), or the functional reference chosen in the contract template (e.g. ‘Seller’ or ‘Buyer’).
b. The If unanswered field produces a placeholder if no party has been selected. By default, the placeholder is a blob between brackets: [[*]].

4. The Presentation table of contents subtab concerns the appearance of the table of contents:

a. The Table-of-contents title field can be used to customise the text appearing above the table of contents.
b. The Show levels dropdown menu determines which numbered formatting styles will be included in the table of contents. By default, only paragraphs with the Level 1 style (article/clause headers) will be listed. Optionally, paragraphs with the Level 2 style (subarticle/subclause headers) and Level 3 style (the next hierarchical level, which may be either sub-subarticle/sub-subclause headers or numbered lists) may be listed as well.
c. Enabling the Advanced TOC settings permits custom mapping of TOC levels (up to 8) to any of the formatting styles in the Weagree Wizard.

5. The Presentations list of annexes subtab concerns the positioning and appearance of the list of annexes and schedules (dependent on the inclusion of a table of contents):

a. The Placement dropdown menu determines where the list of annexes will appear: directly underneath the table of contents, on a separate page after the table of contents, or directly underneath the signature blocks (i.e. on the last page of the contract, before the first annex or schedule page).
b. The List of annexes title can be used to customise the text appearing above the list of annexes.
c. The Show levels dropdown menu determines which header styles will be included in the list. By default, both schedules and annexes will be listed. It is also possible to only list schedules (ranking higher hierarchically than annexes), or ‘parts’ in addition to schedules and annexes.

6. The Margins subtab can override the page margin settings of the dotx-file (Word template) used when generating a document. Leave a margin at 0.00 cm to continue using the setting in the dotx-file.

7. The Page Settings subtab can override several page settings of the dotx-file used when generating a document:

a. The Paper size dropdown can be used to generate documents in a different format. By default, A4 is selected (which is typically also the format used in the dotx-file), but this can be changed to either the Letter or Legal paper size.
b. The Header from edge and Footer from edge settings can override the margins used in the dotx-file. Leave a margin at 0.00 cm to continue using the setting in the dotx-file.
c. Disable Different first page to override this configuration in the dotx-file.

Note: changing any of the margins or page settings in the house style, instead of in the dotx-file, is generally not recommended. Only use this method if specific templates require different settings, while creating another dotx-file for this purpose (instead of a separate house style) would be undesirable or inefficient (for example, if the dotx-file would otherwise be identical to the original).

8. The Caption Settings subtab concerns the appearance of captions (the titles used for subarticles/subclauses, added with the tag):

a. Disable Show captions to ignore captions-tags. Even if these tags are used in the contract template, they will not produce captions when generating a document.
b. The buttons to the right of the Show captions checkbox are used to format captions.
c. The Character after (incl. spaces) setting determines what follows directly after a caption. By default, a full stop (period) and a space are appended to separate the caption from the text of the actual article/clause.
d. The Presentation contract clause dropdown menu determines whether the text of the article/clause will begin on the same line as the caption, or after a paragraph break.

9. The Definition Settings subtab determines whether any characters or text is appended to definitions (as listed in a document through the [interpretation] tag).

The principle is the same as for checkbox settings in a template question: by adding the contents of the applicable field to the end of a definition, multiple definitions can effectively be strung together. While each definition will still occupy a single paragraph, commas or semi-colons can be used to separate them instead of full stops (periods). Typically, the Closing character field will still require a full stop.

Note: use of the Definition Settings requires that each definition does not end with any punctuation. Be careful with this if such definitions may be used in different templates, as this stylistic choice will not be applied to all of those templates if they use different house styles.
