AI differs from the internet (bubble) of 2000

It’s the yearly week of pledges – we wish you a happy and prosperous 2025! …and much AI to make your life easier.

No bubble (yet)

Like the internet was introduced in 1995 and changed our lives forever, AI was ‘introduced’ in 2023, having comparable impact. In 2000, the internet bubble burst. As nowadays, things are happening quicker, an AI bubble might show up this year. A first difference being that the internet bubble was foreseen, while no AI bubble is visible yet.

Despite the bubble, everyone is familiar with the internet. Despite no AI-bubble being visible, you’d better familiarise yourself with AI now.

Why 2025 is different

There are more differentiators that convince: at the turn of the century, changing a way-of-working was extraordinarily complicated; nowadays, there is abundant knowledge about change management. Processes are not entirely manual and organisation-specific; rather, many automated processes were automated the same way. Best practices are well established (e.g. scrum, lean and agile) and many underlying processes follow standard protocols (e.g. for data integration, encryption, authentication).

Why small companies are better equipped

In 1999-2000, in particular small companies had significant potential; the same is true nowadays. A fascinating aspect of AI is that small companies have greater potential than large ones. There are a few good reasons why this is true:

  • Data are not ‘siloed’: scattered data is a foundational problem for an effective use of AI. ‘Data in silos’ characterises large organisations.
  • ‘RevOps’ (revenue operations) are not organised in silos. Any disconnections between marketing, communications, operations or customer service slows down the business; such disconnections are unlikely to exist in small companies.
  • Large Language Models (AI LLMs) are well available and quickly improve in performance and quality. There is already a competitive market securing the availability and ongoing development of AI models (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook) making AI accessible for small companies (yet with adequate safeguards for data protection).
Weagree security of your data AI Adoption in 2025

I wish that, as a legal department…

As one of our customers said about us: “I wish that, as a legal department, we could align more closely with Weagree’s pace of developing their platform. They are always ahead of us.” Next week more about what she said.

And of course, a small company with a track record of 20 years, like Weagree, is even better than a small startup: it is more reliable.

User-friendliness drives user-adoption of AI

Yet, what many organisations overlook, is the cruciality of user-friendliness, also for any AI-based application. While AI will take over a very significant part of our boring (and time-consuming) manual work, in the end, individuals will operate ‘the AI’. This requires user adoption: if team members do not adopt a tech solution, also the benefits will not arrive.

For Weagree, user-friendliness has always been foundational, as user-friendliness drives user-adoption.

Weagree in 2025

In 2025, Weagree will focus on and further improving and expanding our:

  • AI-supported CLM (enabling advanced contract management as of the start)
  • AI-driven contract review
  • AI-supported contract markup
  • AI-created contract summaries
  • AI-based contract-portfolio analysis
  • AI-supported data extraction

That is not all you can benefit from; we are also taking great steps in scaling up our own operations. And we are doing that by adopting AI (we are all in). Over the past months, we have been working hard together with Gartner on:

  • Our RevOps: our messaging (GTM strategy), our sales and customer-success processes
  • Greater accessibility of and easier insight in what you can do with Weagree (videos, information on our website)

For us, after weeks or months of working hard on Weagree’s messaging, customer success operations and ongoing development of Weagree’s CLM, this year will bring you a lot.

Shall we discuss your AI agenda for 2025?
