Proper template testing entails comparing the Weagree Wizard’s output to the source material. For this purpose, original versions and all-options documents can be added to a template’s repository.
The original version is the model contract upon which the template is based; an all-options document reflects the entirety of the template’s contents as well as its full questionnaire. These can be compared to determine whether all the template’s static text and variables match those of the model contract.
The template’s repository can be managed from the Template Creation Tool by any administrator, but the files it contains may be accessed by authorised end-users. This is governed by the Template testing setting on the Configure roles (and access rights) section of the Weagree Wizard’s user management. For more information on the user management, click here. Authorised end-users will only actually be able to access these files when they have enabled Weagree’s test mode on their personal user profile. The originals and all-options documents will appear (in italics) in the repository of any contract entry based on the designated template. End-users can download them or compare them to any other Word document in the repository.

A. ORIGINAL VERSIONS
When you use the Weagree Wizard’s automated import functionality to insert your template, the document you upload will be automatically registered as an original version and added to the template’s repository. Otherwise, or if you want to add a new version of the model contract to the template’s repository, you will have to manually upload it.
1. Click on the template name at the top of the outline.
2. Click Edit the template settings.

3. Open the Originals tab and click Upload document.

4. Select the model contract.
5. Ensure that Template original is selected for Document type.
Note: it is also possible to upload all-options documents or previously created comparisons via this pop-up, should you have any stored locally or on your network.
6. Optionally: insert a version number.
7. Click Upload file.

B. ALL-OPTIONS DOCUMENTS
All-options documents can be generated by the Weagree Wizard with just a few clicks.
1. Click on the template name at the top of the outline.
2. Click Edit the template settings.

3. Open the Originals tab and click Add All options document.
Note: by default, all the variables in the template will be incorporated in the contract as bracketed text. Regardless of whether certain Q&A options would be mutually exclusive, all options (and sub-options) will be included. Be aware that if the template contains duplicates of certain elements, such as different versions of a clause connected to the same inclusion question or identical choice trees, all of these duplicates will of course also appear in the all-options document. Use the following settings to refine the document’s appearance and contents.

4. Optionally: enable Exclude Q&A-specifications. By default, each question and each choice question’s answer as it appears in the questionnaire is included in superscript. Switching this ON will omit the questions and answers, leaving only the actual output of such a question or answer.
5. Optionally: enable Exclude [brackets]. As noted above, the template’s variables will be incorporated as bracketed text by default. Switching this ON will omit the brackets.
6. Optionally: select one or more of the global choice questions used in the template. This will create multiple all-options documents, differentiated for each of the selected global question’s possible answers.
Note: if a question has three possible answers, this will result in three different versions of the all-options document. Doing so can be useful for high-level questions that affect the document in numerous places, as the output for the other answers will be excluded, resulting in a more readable and more easily compared document.
Note 2: selecting multiple global questions is possible, but keep in mind that this will result in a separate all-options version for each combination of answers. Two questions with three possible answers each would therefore result in 3 x 3 = 9 all-options documents altogether. It may be more practical to generate all-options documents for just one global question at a time.
7. Click Generate.

Alternatively, you could of course generate an all-options document manually by starting a new contract and answering all choice questions in the questionnaire. This can be uploaded in the manner described above in section A.
Such a document would only include the selected options and may therefore not include all of a template’s contents, however. Consequently, it may be necessary to generate multiple such documents based on different answers. Also, if you manually create an all-options document, it may be helpful when filling in the questionnaire to put the answers in editable fields between square brackets: that will make it easier to trace them in the generated document.
C. COMPARE DOCUMENTS
Generating a red-lined comparison between an all-options document to an original version can be done from within the Template Creation Tool in the same way you would for two documents in an individual contract entry’s repository.
1. Click on the template name at the top of the outline.
2. Click Edit the template settings.

3. Open the Originals tab, then select one original version and one all-options document.
4. Click Compare versions.

5. Verify that the correct documents are selected for Original version and Modified version.
6. Optionally: edit the file name of the comparison that will be generated.
7. Optionally: select Add as new version.
Note: this will add the comparison to the template’s repository. Like the original version and the all-options document, authorised end-users will be able to access it from the repository of any contract entry based on the designated template. Generally, there will be no need for this and you may therefore leave this option unticked (in which case you will be able to immediately download the resultant document, but it will not be saved in Weagree).
8. Click Compare.
Note: be mindful that whichever method you choose to create an all-options document, certain deviations from the original version will likely be unavoidable. In the case of particularly complex and variable templates, rather than having Word generate a red-lined comparison, you may find it easier to compare them simply by viewing them side-by-side.
